Mack's Pillow Soft White Moldable Silicone Earplugs are one of the best choices for protection from swimmer's ear, and they work great for moderate noise, too. Because Mack's are moldable, they fit everyone and are always incredibly comfortable. Mack's are terrific for sleeping with moderate noise levels and reducing wind noise when biking (they work great under a helmet!).
Before moving to higher NRR rated ear plugs, we suggest you first try Mack's for snoring. Mack's are inexpensive, and for safety reasons, we suggest you use the minimum level of noise protection that will give you the relief you need; you might need to hear the kids or a smoke alarm during the night. At an NRR of 22, Mack's will greatly reduce the noises that disturb you during sleep, but they may still let you hear well enough to let you wake easily in an emergency. The higher the NRR, the less likely that an emergency alarm will wake you. For children under 12, get Mack's Kid Size Ear Plugs, the same great pillow soft moldable silicone, but sized just right to fit small ears. Children will sometimes pull their earplugs out when you are not watching, so we recommend the Ear Band-it headband. Wearing a headband with Mack's or other moldable ear plugs will reduce the potential for a child to remove a plug, which can potentially be a choking hazard for small children.
